-Coloring in TVP has been a breeze, it just took some tutorials to understand how it works. Some of its tools are weird at first but very smooth to use after trying them out.

-TB has lots of great coloring options, but it's got the most temperamental fill bucket ever, at least with vector lines.

-TB's Node system is extremely powerful, but can get a bit too cluttered and techy for my taste. TVP is set up nicely for focusing on the drawing tools instead of the gizmos under the hood, it just has a bit of a steep learning curve to get there.

-TVP's customizability is incredible. Making your own panels with whatever tools and actions you want is so powerful, it makes me wonder why every program doesn't have something similar. Any options you need quick access to, literally just make your own toolbar. Sick.

-TB's timeline has some super convenient features, but can also get messy fast. TVP lacks some of those features, but makes up for it with other options the more I dig into it.

-Drawing feels great in both. I slightly prefer TB's feel, but TVP has more options for painterly tools.

Been learning the ropes of TVPaint for animation lately. Still pretty new to it but I've gotten past some of the major learning hurdles and I'm really digging it.

Here's some scattered thoughts on TVPaint as a long-time Toon Boom user, I'll add more whenever I get some mind-blowing discoveries. 🧵

cleanup and coloring in TVPaint was actually pretty darn efficient! i really like how easy it is to manage layer masks and all that, made shading super quick. lookin' forward to messing with it more 🎨

It's got some big differences from those other programs that were tricky to get to grips with, but the more I use it the more I like it. I like working with raster art more than vector and I think TVP has the best toolkit for that.

Decided to clean this piece up. wanted to get really whacky with the bg, so i did a lot of photo bashing and recoloring just to try something new.

Just a reminder that generative AI is theft of labor and intellectual property, uses vast amounts of energy/ water, provides at best mediocre results (if not outright lies or misinformation), actually affects your ability to think over time (mind duh), and is in general a really fucking bad idea.

SH1 uses PS1 hardware to an amazing degree and I think that's a big part of its identity - but Bloober really surprised me with SH2, so I'm absolutely gonna check out their take on 1.

(we should still be hounding Konami to make the originals readily available tho)
