The 'small five' streptoccoci: S.mutans, S.cristatus, S. gordonii, S. gallolyticus and S. sanguinis account for only 8% of streptoccocal bacteraemis, but ~ 40 % on streptococcal endocarditis

Our new study published. We were surprised to see that carriers have a high baseline risk that antibiotics don't add on it. Among non carriers BLBLI posed the highest risk. Overall the conclusion as always is- be judicious: use the shortest regimen and try to avoid unnecessary treatment
