When I was lucky enough to be asked to do a cover for IDW's Beast Wars series.

It might be lines on a page to someone else, but it was an achievement for me.

I also made some of the greatest friends from it, and I met my lovely partner @pluralsword.bsky.social through Earthspark.

The first time I went to TFCon Toronto was probably the first time I didn't feel anxious, stressed or unsafe in public. I didn't feel like I needed to adjust myself at all to be welcomed.

I cracked it

Spoke with Surena, checked in, and I’m only going to say a few things. (Even if she did say I can let the chopper sing) The only reason I’m saying anything is because while everyone wants to step away “until they have all the facts”, that didn’t stop many people from spreading the lies via texts.

Just as a reminder: I’m rooting for all the queer and trans people of color making uncomfortable, personal, soft, flawed, experimental, strange, heartbreaking, ambitious, broken art.

I hope we all find meaning and support in the stories we create, even when white audiences fail to understand us.
