Global warming caused by humans is an observed fact. Yes, science still needs to learn more, but it's no more in overall doubt than the theory of gravity. And it's bad. Willful ignorance, enforced by those who choose to deny science, is an existential threat to our civilization.

Whenever I start writing something new, there's this weird sort of block of "how do I do this again?" And I wonder if it'll come together enough for me to write. But then it "just happens" after throwing ideas at it for a while, turning into something I didn't see coming and it's always pretty cool

That deafening silence is the collective roar of every free speech absolutist staying quiet while the government tells us what to say, what art is appropriate, who deserves to be on TV, and what books your kids can read.

If you choose to be a writer, you will fail. And that's okay. It's the sticking around despite those failures that will define your "career" - whether it be amateur or professional.

We're definitely entering an era where the Internet is so hollowed out, so untrustworthy and compromised, that real world interactions, things identifiably done by human beings, will take on greater value and purpose.

My coworker and I were talking about holiday houses (idk why) and the topic must’ve changed like 40 times but every topic they were insistent on verifying everything with ChatGPT 🙃

I was hounded in university for not using them, so now I use ‘em every time I do a research paper. But most folks don’t know the difference between em dashes and hyphens and just accuse everyone of using AI.

People posting about how they’ve never seen em dashes used before the rise of ChatGPT are really great at telling folks they’ve never read a book before.

You don’t “learn” from a chatbot. You consume. There’s a difference.

They’re spewing slop and people are gobbling it up (and eroding their intelligence in the process).

Misinformation is everywhere. Please don’t rely on a chatbot for anything important.

They can’t replace real human connection
