At the Thanksgiving dinner table last night (we celebrate it in November here in the US), we were talking about places we wanted to travel. When I mentioned Canada, my son perked up and said "yes!" enthusiastically. My niece is now a first year student at McGill studying international relations.

Canada is the world's "north star". Not perfect, but a light of hope to billions.

Neither to the millions who didn't get their case dismissed, who were directly harmed because of his cowardice and complicity. In the end, I could care less if Comey ended up feeding his face to the leopards he helped create.

Right now, his main interest seems to be limited to protecting himself. This is an example of reaping what you sow. He still has little concern for the rule of law when it doesn't affect him personally.

I also think this last election was a missed opportunity. If a legalization measure had been on the ballot on Tuesday, it would have passed in a landslide just about anywhere with the electorate that turned out. I hope they get their act together in 2026, court challenges notwithstanding.
