Inflammasome signaling in astrocytes modulates hippocampal plasticity The function of immune pathways in homeostatic neurobiology remains underexplored. Zengeler etΒ al. find that the inflammasome complex, typically associated with immune responses, is involved in memory...

I'm sorry, but rich, privileged women going on a space fieldtrip is not inspiring. The people are who ARE inspiring are the hardworking women working in STEM. You know, the ones who are at risk of losing their jobs and grants. #SaveOurScience

Just found out NIH has officially canceled our grant, a longitudinal study of Alzheimer's disease in Black Americans. I cannot even put into words how angry I am. The truth is they are canceling it because it has Black in the title. That's it, there is no other reason to do this.

NIH Grants Fueled $95 Billion In FY 2024 Economic Activity, Finds New Report National Institutes of Health grants generated almost $95 billion in economic activity nationwide in FY 2024 according to a new report by United for Medical Research.

New report shows that NIH grants fueled $95 billion in economic activity and 407,782 jobs in 2024.

That's not to mention the countless lives that biomedical research has saved.

Show me a better investment than that.

A woman holding a sign showing a polar bear and a melted iceberg and the words Science shouldn’t be polarizing

This is Courtney. She’s about to graduate with her PhD in neuroscience from the University of Colorado. She made this sign in 2017 for the first science march and has had it in her lab ever since.
