I'm starting to think those google docs filled with nothing but screen-capped tweets and bad faith interpretations of their meanings were created with the intention of misleading people into ostracizing a target that the author didn't like.

Well... Since Scream V at least. This was supposed to be the climax of the Carpenter sisters trilogy. They fired Melissa Barrera because she opposed the actions of the Israeli government. Jenna Ortega left shortly after followed by Radio Silence (the directors of the previous two films).

Yep. Directed by the screenwriter of the first 4, without the involvement of the two leads from 5 and 6 nor the directors of the previous 2. They are dropping the story of the Carpenter sisters almost entirely.

I fear I won't recall much of this film beyond a couple months despite the genuinely interesting take on found footage as a genre and the themes surrounding religious trauma/abuse. If you're a fan of Found Footage flicks - particularly smaller, independent productions - I think it's worth a watch.

Watched "Man Finds Tape" today and I have thoughts. Overall enjoyed it. It reminded me of cult classic "Lake Mungo" for good and bad reasons. Like LM, MFT has many twists and turns that kept me engaged and intrigued. However, none of those reveals had anywhere near the level of impact that LM had...

Manifesting Scream 7 being a complete dud at the box office for screwing over Melissa Barrera and Radio Silence because Spyglass is a bunch of cowards. I want everyone involved to have egg on their faces.
