Maybe if [rev, tithe extractor] wasn't $50 I'd have fun with that. I feel like shelves herself to the sort of midrange control focused decks I like to play when I'm not allowed to play combo. Just casting boardwipes and then rebuilding using cards from my opponents decks, that could be fun.

I had some fun playing [Zada, Hedron Grinder] but got bored of her relatively fast. I've never found a mono green or mono black commander I really clicked with.

I've always had difficulty maintaining interest in mono colored commanders, with limited exceptions. I really liked my mono white [Beza the Bounding Spring] deck, and I really loved playing [emry, lurker in the loch] for a while.

My favorite artifact in the "you don't need AI to do art" discourse is, of course, screenwriter Dan O'Bannon's sketch of the facehugger to explain it to Giger.

Theoretically the only two other commanders I would be interested in for this deck would be Kenrith, who's abilities are just generically more useful than Tazri (although he comes down later) or Urtet, who is in the deck already because untapping all my changelings is sometimes relevant.

the reality is that a lot of 5 color commanders are either expensive to cast or dont have abilities that are relevant in the deck at all. Like, im not running enough legendary creatures for something like Jodah or sissay, and something like morphon is just expensive to cast.

Yeah yeah, i was talking about her ability a bit there too, thats what is only 4 mana, and she herself is often 3. Like, if its mid to late game and my hand is empty, being able to just pay 4 to dig for something to do is pretty reasonable. its never my first choice, but it occasionally comes up

I mean, its only four mana to activate her, its not that bad. there are quite a few ways in the deck to generate pretty pretty huge amounts of mana. that said, I only ever plan to activate her ability more than once or twice a game. Her being a 3 mana 4/6 that lets me play 5 c is good too.

The deck is mostly what I think Ive heard some people refer to as "five color green". Like, probably half the deck or so is green cards because the early ramp of green makes hitting any other colors I need pretty trivial.

for the curious: its [tazri, beacon of unity], 25 changelings, and then the lords and other "creature type matters" cards that I personally think are cool or strong. Tazri is an amazing commander for this because all the changelings lower her cost, and then also her ability helps you find more.

One of the things I want to say about Gen AI is that the dogshit way its supporters talk About it reflects a lot of honestly terrible beliefs that are still held in broader society, especially when it comes to discussions of so-called "talent".
