The middle sign explains the instructions for the activity - think about your action, describe it on a whiteboard and strike a pose!
Members of the People First Podcast have a group photo. There’s a person with pink hair, who is a wheelchair user next to two people sat on a bench. The person on the right has blonde hair and a leopard print dress and the person in the middle has dark red hair. They’re all smiling warmly and there are People First Podcast posters behind the .
The people first podcasters are interviewing LDE staff member, Jess! They have their backs to the camera but are facing towards eachother. Jess on the left has curly, brown hair and is smiling! The interviewer on the right is holding a microphone and a bright green clipboard and is smiling at Jess.
The photographer is taking a picture of someone at the Good Lives pop up, they’re standing in front of a large, green, glittery curtain which is made up of streamers. They’re holding up their action on a white board and smiling at the camera.
It was the Learning Disability England (in person) conference last week and I’m holding onto the fire, the hope and the community of that space.
At both the online and in-person conferences, it’s been incredible to connect with members and learn more about their work.

19.02.2025 09:40 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It's important everyone over 14 on their doctor's learning disability register has an annual health check.
They can help you stay well and find any problems early.
If you haven't been offered one you can ask your doctors practice if you can have one.
Having spent the last few weeks talking to voluntary and community groups about the importance of Annual Health Checks for people with #LearningDisabilities, it’s incredibly hard to understand why the NHS have removed the 75% target.
Folks, the check is still available. Go get it done.
