The article says that Discord's "work with Persona was part of a “limited test” which has since been concluded.", but nothing to actually suggest that they've distanced themselves from them.

So from what I read yes Discord is "distancing" themselves a bit from persona, but this sounds to me like they are more so slightly dipping their toes in those waters to see if they can get away with it.
