El Melón Farmers’ and Cattle Farmers’ Association is calling on AngloAmerican to end its opposition to the subdivision of these common lands, which will benefit a significant number of community members & their families.

We will continue to stand in solidarity with the community in their struggle ✊

As representative Luis Acevedo writes: "These legal actions have not benefited the company in any way, and have only led to the deterioration of our community and the breakdown of dialogue with the company. They have also depleted our scarce financial resources."

"The US-brokered ‘peace deal’ between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo isn’t about peace at all — it’s a corporate minerals heist."

Local communities succeed in halting the transfer of culturally significant, environmentally important and water-stressed lands over to BHP & Rio Tinto to exploit for copper mining.
