Currently putting my portfolio together and thought I'd share a sample of how I explore creature designs. The purpose of a creature in the story / gameplay is my top priority, and the appeal of its design is a byproduct of that function. This means rough thumbnails, quick sketches, and notes. #art

Wonderful shape design as always! I also like the unity of vertical lines for the color tones. Great use of color pencil :)

Decided to draw a Deathclaw after enjoying the latest episode of Fallout.

I usually draw more rough, but always enjoy dipping my toe into inking/cleanup space once in a while.

Recently finished a virtual #ttrpg campaign, and we were victorious!

We used the ICRPG system. I really enjoyed how streamlined and easy it was to jump in.

This was my character, a Torton monk named Thwack. I tried to mimic the style of the characters design in the game manual.

Anatomy studies of a sun bear. Really like how the arm and chest turned out, but the muscles of the shoulder and lower part of the brachiocephalic are a bit messy. I'll probably take another crack at it as I finish out the rest of the anatomy. #art #anatomy #bears #animaldrawing

I think Sun Bears are becoming my favorite bear to draw. I think it's because they sometimes look like humans in a baggy onesie. #art #drawing

Painting / Rendering I did awhile back for a livestream. Using Simple value shapes + directional brush strokes to move the viewer's eye through the rhythms of the figure.
