I don't know how you knew your friend, guess you weren't like talking daily and super tight.
Much of my frustration comes from having a friend i've known for like 9 years now, met up IRL and know is a good guy, but he feels the need to excuse himself for playing the Hogwarts game.

I will have qualms about it but i can never convince someone who likes a game or show that they shouldn't because some of the higher ups are awful people

-Apple normalized not being able to repair your own products, despite their high prices
-EA shut down dozens of tallented game studios just to meet investor quotas and because they were incompetent publishers.

There is rott everywhere. These people will die rich. Vilification of friends help no one

-Amazon their trucks wreck roads, they create massive waste, pay workers like piss
-Wall-mart drives out smaller businesses and empovrish towns with their presence
-Disney pretty much the staple in union busting for the states, copyright laws bend to their will
-Bethesda made paid mods

I haven't even had any exposure to harry potter since the first 3 movies, i couldn't care less.
But i do not get the hatred for people consuming products in conjunction with awful companies.

Honestly wish people would care this much and boycott games from awful publishers like Ubisoft (kept sexually abusive boses) and Activision/Blizzard (Harassed employee to suicide, bad wages, had a fucking BILL COSBY ROOM).
