My guess is card kingdom is trying to make money off of the low value 20-100 card orders a lot of people make. Former LGS girl here, those orders were frequent, annoying and took a decent amount of labor. I kind of get why CK would raise their prices on cheap staples.

Commander being the defacto way to play Magic is another important thing. When you'd play edh before/after fnm it's less important and most people's magic budget went to their standard/modern deck. Now that edh is all that there is it becomes the focus for constant spending for engaged players.

Pokemon is kind of in a world of its own. But its also extremely simple. To me its mostly about managing cards in deck and making sure your resource loop lasts long enough to close out the game.

I think the biggest skill gap for ygo players in magic is combat.

I think the magic players have the best shot of taking the whole thing down because there are many skills devolped playing magic that can transfer to the other games. I'm not sure the same works the other way around.
