I'm tin-rattling! The primary school writers room I run has produced a cracking script for our latest short film (comedy, time-travel). If we can muster a decent total by next Monday (July 21st) we can apply for matching funding from the county council and we hope go for a Spring shoot.

Absolutely fine! But! As per your other response, you need proper walking boots and beware, every year people die falling off it*. My experience is that you’re so worried, you don’t go near the edge (I barely dared standing up)… and the last bit is a scramble up when you’d hope there’d be a path.

Our design team are amazing, aren’t they? It looks sooooo plausible….

We are used to seeing The Marlow Murder Club filming all around the town centre, but it seems Marlow Bottom isn’t being left out and will feature in the next season🙌 Filming taking place there today 😊

And to end this short flurry of posts, I had a fabulous (best?) outing to CPI Print to sign a bucketload of paperbacks with special sprayed edges (I WILL NOT CALL THEM SPREDGES THIS IS THE HILL I'M DYING ON) for all of the Indie bookshops in the UK. They look GAWJUS. Out on the 19th!

An amazing weekend at Fête du Livre D'Hyères: two full days behind a desk hawking books like a Covent Garden flower girl. I'd have gone mad (we all went a *bit* mad) if I hadn't had the brilliant Valerie Beuf from La Martinière at my side, and the hilarious @abirm.bsky.social across the way.

Posting v late, but it’s been a bit bedlamy finishing book 5 and kicking off series 3 of TMMC at the same time. Had a fab jaunt to New York for the @mysterywriters.bsky.social #Edgars2025. Lost (very happily) to Scott Frank, and hung out with @ianmooreauthor.bsky.social and Steven Sheil. Net win.

This was such a great day - the Agatha Christie festival is the best - but why oh why at an Agatha event of all things would I panic over the seven dials?! What an idiot.
