A small brown butterfly-like animal sits in a patch of green grass. It has small white spots all over its wings.
A skipper in the genus Pyrgus found at San Juan Island National Historical Park. Skippers are an intermediate group of Lepidopterans between moths & butterflies. They have a special place in my heart, I remember when I first saw a silver-spotted skipper & scrambled to my bug ID book.
