A PhD Studentship in Fungal Infections at Trinity College Dublin is now available with Prof. Johannes Wagener. This entails the study of Aspergillus fumigatus, their interactions with immune cells, the underpinning mechanisms and antifungal resistance.

While of interest to us, the IFS does not specialise in mushroom ID. For a safer and more reliable experience, it's best to reach out to local foraging guides or dedicated mushroom groups in your area 🍄

Hi Mike, I'd be inclined to rule out Morchella elata on account of the stem lacking the 'coarsely granular' appearance. It does seem to have some of the characteristics of Morchella vulgaris, though this species is characteristically variable!
