Euclidean zoning codes popularized in the post-war suburban experiment mean most residents cannot access healthcare where they live in the city and have to travel to find non-emergency access. This adds an additional burden to access for care, and, frankly, it sucks.
Vote Oct 8 - 20 for new ideas.
"Healthcare is a provincial issue" when trying to attract doctors to your city misses so much that Council can do to help prepare the city to welcome more doctors: like zoning more clinic space, making improvement grants available to existing clinics, setting aside city-owned space for clinic.

If you'd like to come and canvass with me let me know!
Just did the same! Thank you to you and your team for putting this together and working so hard on it. I can't believe we have to do this, but it's a wild and whacky world these days.
04.08.2025 21:10 โ ๐ 11 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0A bold, graphic protest poster with yellow and black hazard striping, resembling a warning sign. The large title at the top reads, โNO, YOU DIDNโT VOTE FOR THISโ in black, all-caps text. Below are three text boxes listing criticisms of Alberta Premier Danielle Smith's government actions: "WHAT YOU WERE PROMISED BY DANIELLE SMITH" "Freedom, prosperity, and parental rights." "WHAT YOU GOT" "55 sweeping laws with no consultation or transparency" "Bill 5 โ rewrote election law" "Bill 46 โ dismantled public health powers" "Addiction criminalized, harm reduction attacked" "Cabinet control over pensions, curricula, municipalities" Additional criticism: "Changes not campaigned on โ obscured or denied" "Passed via omnibus bills and bureaucratic language" "Rushed through with limited debate" At the bottom, another box declares: โNot a mandate โ A BAIT AND SWITCHโ To the right of the text, there is an image of a large wrecking ball breaking through a yellow background, symbolizing destruction.
#DanielleSmith didnโt campaign on creating an APP, a provincial police force, or ramming through bills that dismantle democracy. Iโm re-upping the Wrecking Ball series to help refresh some memories. Albertans deserve to know whatโs really happening. #abpoli #ABLeg #cdnpoli #UCPCorruption #yeg #yyc

We can do better, and a fresh City Council brings new perspectives to problems passed up by previous councils.
Vote Oct 8 - 20 for change.
Making history! Group of people in an Edmonton restaurant asked if they can sign the #ForeverCanadian petition. Little did they know that they are the first ones to sign it.

Another fun fact about me: I'm a Senior! Or at least, I'm a member of the Lethbridge Senior Citizen's Organization (you can become one at 35, and it's about $90/year!) I'll be renewing my membership next month, and can't wait for another great year with the LSCO!
28.07.2025 20:57 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0We fund public pools + swimming programs in an effort to reduce the number of drowning deaths. These are among the public services cities have prioritized over the decades in order to provide better quality of life for citizens, and ensure folks enjoying a day out don't experience tragedy.
25.07.2025 19:17 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0This issue is about the survival of everyone and all industries downstream of the headwaters - We cannot afford the risk to our ag and other local industries.
25.07.2025 07:39 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The updated Parks master plan enhances our parks through use of native grasses and more localized water retention to reduce the need to irrigate. By reducing our need to irrigate our public spaces (which uses treated drinking water), we can ease pressures on our aging infrastructure and save money.
23.07.2025 17:35 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0We live in a semi-arid desert with drought and flood cycles and to date we've been pretty unresponsive to environmental pressures. As a city we can explore new programs and incentivize changes in behaviour that will reduce our impact on the environment and save our citizens money.
22.07.2025 19:52 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0My business participates in the Blue W program and is happy to refill your water bottle for you (with ice, if you like!) but you also have to remember to have your water bottle with you, which I chronically forget when I'm out and about. With fountains, its direct on demand access, which is better.
21.07.2025 20:06 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's water week in my campaign and as an avid user of our public spaces I can't recall how many times I've wished for a public drinking fountain! Relying on businesses to refill water bottles (look for the Blue W program!) means there's only publicly available water when businesses are open.
21.07.2025 19:52 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I genuinely miss the green-spaces of the westside sometimes. They were such a delight for dog-walks and bike rides. There's definitely a way to design more greenspaces into the linear grid layout. Even reclaiming some space from cars for green space is possible if people want to explore that option.

20.07.2025 03:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's such a cool neighbourhood to do business in. We're surrounded by incredible locally owned neighbours who are just awesome and no one knows they're there.
3rd Ave was the original hwy thru town before crowsnest trail was built, it's still designed like a highway.
the plans for 3rd are similar, yes. And that is typically how these things go, yes. I'm most excited about the plans to include street trees to cool it the fuck down in summer, cause riding in the commercial areas suuuuuucks.
19.07.2025 23:10 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This plan already exists, it just needs political will to move it forward. As a daily biker of 13th St, it's pretty harrowing sometimes, especially when drivers get aggressive.
19.07.2025 21:22 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0according to the cycling master plan that corridor is supposed to be 13th St S/N. Which, I mean I'd love, that's my daily commute. The plan is to install protected bike lanes, reduce car traffic to single lane with a center turn lane to avoid pesky left-hand-turn problems, and include parking.

19.07.2025 20:49 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0What business owners can do if we remove minimum parking requirements, vs what they're mandated to do if we don't. Which do you think has been more successful for us in terms of revenue generation?
18.07.2025 15:32 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0For almost 10 years I've been largely ignoring the minimum parking requirements at my business. I know, bad Kelti. However, because we don't use our lot for parking, we're able to host so many more people, outdoor music shows, and events! Minimum Parking Requirements rob local business owners.
18.07.2025 15:28 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0As a former member of the municipal planning commission and a massive nerd about municipal design/social connectivity, it's time Lethbridge realize that mixed density neighbourhoods with access to small, local commercial should be prioritized across the city to reduce traffic, collisions, and cost.
17.07.2025 22:15 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I love living in my post-war-era neighbourhood. Grid-pattern streets means hyper-connectivity and efficient travel. Smaller houses on larger plots means lots of huge mature trees. Can't beat it!
