Today was apparently the largest protest in IA history. Over 140 people were signed up to speak against taking away the rights of trans people.
They cut the mics after 20 of our people, then rushed it through the senate and house, despite the opposition.
Fuck. Iowa.
THIS IS NOT DEMOCRACY.
It passed and is on its way to the governor. I feel sick.

People in favor of the bill to strip the civil rights of trans Iowans made up just 12% of those who registered to speak (20 PRO vs 147 CON), yet they were given 50% of the time to be heard.
Let’s make sure the remaining 76% are heard!
