Yes, you're throwing a lot of other media outlets under the bus to gain your own audience. Tough cookies. Everyone in journalism, certainly, knew from day one that gAI was an inevitable disaster. One that would take a lot of people with it as it dies. 🤷‍♂️

Tell them they have to reopen failed nuclear power plants to provide enough electricity, and that their water tap is going dry to provide cooling, and that the annual burn rate is greater than (literally) all the money *in the world* & they're like "how TF is this legal?!?"

Cite the stats of how inaccurate and wasteful AI is. Don't go overboard, but make it clear. Most people know AI is "problematic" but assume it's not too bad and getting better. Tell them it's dead wrong literally half the time and getting WORSE as it feeds on its own slop and their jaw drops.

I have been saying for some time that the smart play by any "media" (however you define it) figure/outlet is to very publicly denounce all AI. Trumpet that it's terrible, play up that you use skilled humans to do the right work because it's better for the audience. More trustworthy.

And to agree with you 100%: the smart leader knows loyalty is a two way street, and it must be earned.

Very few media leaders are smart. Weiss certainly isn't.

There's a certain amount of necessary turnover when a new boss comes in. They want, nay "need", their own people to be their lieutenants. Not the previous guy's people. The smart leader knows some of those people are too useful to them to replace simply due perceived "disloyalty."
