Reading the Magician, by Colm Toibin, my 50th book of 2025. It is a disturbing reminder of a resister's plight as his nation devolves into Nazism. It is an biographical novel of Thomas Mann of Death in Venice and Magic Mountain, and how he emigrated with Einstein to Princeton during WWII.

And one final thought: Ozzy going out after giving an emotional final performance that raised a ton of money for charity is more spiritually uplifting and did more genuine good than anything any televangelist and religious grifter who railed against him ever did combined.
