They’re essential skills, skills that make you less dependent, less needy towards others, and more capable and autonomous on your own terms.

Learning how to and being able cook for yourself and learning how to and being able to make your own art (of any medium) are very deeply similar, really. Self-sufficiency, independence, ability to provide for and nourish one’s self, physically and spiritually.
