We recently celebrated our 1st group of Ziff Scholars. Yearly, we will fully fund 1 doc student & give $60k to other students w/potential to impact ed via engaged service & scholarship. Thanks to all faculty who attended & Provost Bejar for joining the ceremony. Good stuff! @fiu.bsky.social

Had a great time at the annual “Walk on Water” event at Florida International University. Architecture students built their own ways to walk across the pond right outside my office. I’m sure the turtles were a bit perplexed, but otherwise a great event.

Such a fun time at the Frost Science Gala last night. An important fundraiser for science education. And, I got to hang out with the most delightful of colleagues. Again—I work at an amazing place.

Deans learning how to Dean. Attending the Council of Academic Dean’s (CADREI) conference on “Leading in Turbulent Times.” Lots of helpful discussions & so many good folks to learn from. (Today was “wear your university swag day”—hence the dress-down look. My kind of conference attire.)
