As we move into Christmas and New Year's, I wanted to post this wonderful photo, taken by my cousin, of our family at Thanksgiving and of my husband and me at the end of the evening after hosting everyone. I feel so grateful and lucky to have the family I do.

Never forget 9/11 and all the lives lost. For those of us from New York City, many sadly knew someone who was at ground zero. We will never be able to express our gratitude to the first responders who ran towards the towers rather than away. In tragedy, we stood together as a nation.

My thoughts go out to Jim Lovell’s family. I had the privilege of working with him when I was at the Naval Academy Foundation, and he was so humble and likable. It was incredible to hear directly from him about the Apollo 13 experience, which, without his leadership, would have been a tragedy.

At Savannah Banana with cousin

Three years ago, we lost my uncle and godfather due to a tragic accident. When my dad died, he included me in all of his family's activities. I miss him and send all my thoughts to my cousins who lost a great dad.
