S'il était pas en tête d'affiche je serais sûrement allée voir le film, c'est con.

I vividly remember my brother (who now works in cinema) making vacation videos with early 2000s' editing software and the wildest, cheesiest transitions you could come up with.
Let's go back to owning cringe.
I'm sorry but it wasn't clear. You came off as yet another person testing the waters, or trying to garner easy engagement.
I'm not mad at you or anything. But I think every artist worth their salt will react the same way. We don't do it because it's easy, we do it because we see no other way to be.
That is why people say AI is fascist: fascism doesn't care about art. It only sees art as yet another instrument of domination.
It doesn't care about the making, only the end result, doesn't care about relating to each other, or empathy.
The fact that the same can be said of AI is no coincidence.
The struggle of making art *is what makes it art*. It is the pain and uneasiness of creation that makes it meaningful.
More than anything, this cynical vision breaks my heart. I sincerely pity the people in this world missing out on a fundamental pillar of the human experience.
Fuck capitalism.
Art at its core is a pure and sincere act of communication. Someone, somewhere, wants to make you feel something, wants you to relate to their personal experience.
Just so that in the end we all feel a little less confused and alone in the vast dreariness of life and space.
Art is raw empathy.
If there's one good thing about the AI discourse, it's that it opened my eyes on the fact that no, not everyone gets the point of art.
I thought it was a universal experience, but it obviously isn't when such an asinine question can be asked with a straight face.
Let me tell you a tale of how completely the normies have been mobilized. My 14 year-old niece has done School of Rock for the past 5 years; last summer she was part of their touring band, and the kids loved playing together so much that they decided to keep doing it. (1/?)

La réalité, c'est que ces gens profitent du fait qu'il ne soit pas encore socialement inacceptable d'être transphobe, pour l'être.

French media and politicians were bending over backwards to find angles to criticize it.
Meanwhile, everyone else in the country found it was awesome and a symbol for what we actually want to stand for as a people.
Bad Bunny’s performance began in the plantation, featured broken electric poles, and ended by centering a hemispheric understanding of “América”—among many other things—and some Anglo journalists are like “his performance wasn’t political.”
This is why we need to be telling our stories.
It's been years since I've heard the word America used in its proper sense, and not as tacit hegemonic language.
That was cool as hell.
