Gardeners in the south, I am heading to Louisiana and would like suggestions for easy growing plants to start with my grandkids. Sunflowers? Poppies? Give me some ideas.

We really need to keep impressing on our contacts and communities how important growing gardens is right now. Taking charge of your food supply is so empowering. I figure I'll be growing more food than usual and giving away the surplus. Who's with me? Grow good food, feed people

Learned helplessness. It's a thing. We seem to be good at it.

You know what we do with my most male horses, cats and dogs? We neuter them. And there's a good reason why. Unneutered animals are hard to manage and cause a lot of chaos, besides unintended pregnancies. Men seem to think they can control women, how about we start managing men instead. Hm.

Gardening nourishes body and soul and satisfies all the senses. Garden like your life depends on it, because it does. If you can't garden, support local folks and markets. Feed yourself and your people and build community. This is the most basic form of resistance. #gardening

I gotta say this platform may be the best place to be for some but the absolute lack of engagement is discouraging. Literally zero engagement for me since I joined.
