21.11.2025 18:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0HiΒ Nick, welcome onΒ here π
The topics youβre currently exploring are all interests ofΒ mine asΒ well, looking forward toΒ what youβll discover and learn :)
I left Meta this summer and since then have been recovering from burnout and dipping my toes in independent software engineering.
I'll make a few posts about what I've been getting into.
one strategy is to keep doing your thing much longer than anyone thought you would

Screenshot of the mentions UI in Croissant with two accounts tagged.
One thing I really like about @croissantapp.bsky.social is how you can customize @ mentions for each network.
It doesn't even have to be an account β you can also just write the name of the person if they don't have a profile on that network.
Wanted to share this interesting visualization by @rubenmathisen.bsky.social that we took a look at in my sociology class.
Especially the first and last map are quite powerful.

And for more nerdy details after the watch π

I know I'm late to the party, but yesterday I watched K-Pop Demon Hunters, and it's honestly a very good movie. Visuals, the music, the story, the details β everything done very well.
Definitely recommend watching it, if you haven't yet!
Really interesting article about how predictably people choose 4 digit codes:

I particularly like the dithering and CRT* one. The ASCII art generator is also great!
Hi atproto from my personal pds!

Now it works! @alt.dominik.social

10.11.2025 19:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Any reason why my alt account on my self-hosted pds with a custom domain doesn't show up in Bluesky for other users via search and has an "invalid handle" tag?

Ok, this is very cool: @paperbnd.club uses the same lexicon, which means my reviews are on there as well :)

09.11.2025 17:17 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Unfortunately, the exports from both Literal and Storygraph were either not complete or the import failed for some of the books on Bookhive's side.
But nothing a session with Claude Code, some data wrangling and atproto shenanigans couldn't solve ;)
Project of the day completed: Migrating all my read books from Literal and Storygraph over to @bookhive.buzz (atproto clone of the former two) π
09.11.2025 17:17 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 1 π 1This is a fun iOS app to sort some colour palettes and decompress for a few minutes.
I often keep sorting palettes one after the other.
The app's called Color Sort Therapy.
This is so calming, thanks for sharing :)
07.11.2025 15:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Chatted with an OG Internet guy at the @atproto.boston meetup today.
Asked him about the last time he saw so much community excitement and engagement for a protocol.
He said http and html.
What a cool (and surprisingly accurate) gameβ¦

Just an observation (and maybe it's just my bubble), but why are so many atproto devs also iOS/Swift devs?

Like with FocusFlight (apps.apple.com/us/app/focus...), these airport/flight metaphors just work for me :D
TIL that the App Store web version is made with Svelte:

Haha this looks like it took a good amount of work π
But awesome job, always great to see how you can essentially give a room a second life :D
Woah this looks beautiful! π
I already feel inspired by just looking at the pictures, working at this desk must be even better ^^
