TIL about "Comparisonitis" courtesy Gemini. It is the need to compare yourself and your accomplishments to those of others.

This is the prompt I used:
"I want you to create a better design off of the image. I feel like its too basic as it is and I want it to be more visually appealing".

Nothing fancy, and it created the design in one attempt.

Tried Google Stitch for the first time. Asked it to redesign a basic HTML to be more visually pleasing, and it did a great job, at least better than I would have done.

Spent 3 days trying to build a cron scheduling system with Upstash Workflows, and it was like banging my head against a wall 😩
Switched to express + node-cron and had it working in 15 minutes.

Sometimes you gotta ditch the fancy stuff and keep it simple.

Learn by Copy In America we’re trained that all copying is bad; of course plagiarism is, but perhaps we’re throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

At first I just blogged anything that I thought was even mildly interesting.

You could even take a concept that you think someone else wrote up really well, and "teach" the same thing yourself, even in a similar way.

however, I get busy the whole day and basically forget to do anything about it or feel like I don't have anything tangible to say.
I guess this can also help me in my founder life especially with ideas and execution

I haven't tried Claude code but Gemini CLI was able to work on small tasks in an existing project. It understands context and if you prompt it well enough, you get what you want the first time. For UI, don't bother, it was terrible for me lol
