πŸ”₯ β€œYou see me? Look here. Bye.” πŸ”₯

Rep. Ramon Romero Jr. just torched Trump’s rigged redistricting scheme and walked out with Texas Democrats to stop a racist, power-hungry map designed to silence voters.

β€œWe didn’t start this fightβ€”Donald Trump did.”

Now they’re fighting back.
Stand with them.

Oddly enough, the Classical Nahuatl exclamation equivalent to "YES!" is ... "YE!"

Heh. Weird, huh?

I'm going to launch a Latine romance imprint, focusing mostly on queer stories, but also special straight ones.

It will be called NEKISSOHβ€”

β€”Nahuatl for "desirable" or "desired."

Among our publications will be the queer historical romances I'm writing as Aeron ZaldΓvar.

More details soon!

Asking rhetorically why Republicans aren't responding in traditionally conservative ways to things like AI & big government is a little silly, because if you're paying attention, the Republican party is no longer even pretending to be about conservatism... it's openly about fascist white supremacy.

It's a horrifying time. Know that I see and love you, hermane, and all other NB folks.

(I'm actually writing an [adult] queer historical romance between a xochihuah [an Indigenous Nahua gender that roughly equates to either AMAB NB or trans woman] and a pansexual man.)

Y'all have always existed.

Unless we are going to restrict the writing of stories about teens to teens themselves (who, on average, are not actually able to produce 75k words of marketable prose), then adults writing about teens having sex is unavoidable & just as fine as sex education being taught by adults, not teens.

No, you don't have to wonder about us. You see, we were once teenagers who had sex, so it's not terribly hard for us, when writing about other, fictional teenagers (whose personalities we craft from our own experiences) to depict them having sex.

It's called verisimilitude. And it's necessary.

This fucking malinchista means BLACK Americans, y’all. That’s MAGA’s plan. Attempt to deport Latinos, then attempt to force Black folks into the fields. I guarantee that shit ain’t happening. Neither group is going without a fight. Racist scumbags have no clue what they’ll spark.

Note: I don't use euphemisms and scientific language, except where it is clear that the term in question was used euphemistically or clinically. To define them, I use English words that queer adults (in real life & in romance novels) use, which conservative or sex-shaming people may consider vulgar.

Sex, Romance, Queerness, and Gender in Classical Nahuatl When I started studying Nahuatl almost twenty years ago, I noticedβ€”as a queer manβ€”that most analyses of Nahuatl vocabulary concerning…

Because of my latest projectβ€”a series of queer historical romances set in 15th-century Mesoamericaβ€”I wanted to share my growing lexicon of Classical Nahuatl words that queer Nahuas surely used to talk about their identity, orientation, and proclivities.

Yes, there WAS queer romance in Anahuac.

Thanks! And all these are separate from the ErΓ©ndira historical novel (which does have romantic elements) that I mentioned in another thread.

Instead, I want to signal to younger readers that while I wrote these books, they are not meant for them.

The pseudonym I'm leaning toward right now is Aeron ZaldΓvar.

And I'll keep y'all in the loop as things move forward!

Please note that these are very much ADULT queer historical romances, unlike the YA romance I've written before. They have quite a bit of explicit queer sex in them.

Which is why I will probably publish them under a pseudonym. Not to hide my identityβ€”I'm literally telling everyone now, heh.

3-MONARCH OF THE NEAR AND NIGHT. A con artist to lovers romance between a cacao counterfeiter posing as a noble and the xochihuah scribe whom he seduces in hopes of getting their father's duchy.

And the others will be equally diverse, exploring the nooks and crannies of life in Anahuac.

For example, check out the description of the first three books:

1-AMID THE FLOATING GARDENS. A Sapphic romance between a juridical scribe and a widowed weaver, set in Xochimilco.

2-SPARK THE RAIN. A gay romance between two boxers in the Confederation of Chalco.

Each of the ten books I have planned (I've now written two, neither published yet) focuses on different intersectional identities in the area at that time, exploring Nahua gender, sexuality, and social strata as arguably no one has done beforeβ€”using the tools of queer historical romance.

3/

05.07.2025 22:47 β€” πŸ‘ 14    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Anahuac is the Nahuatl name for the central basin of Mexico, which is now basically ... Mexico City.

In the early 1400s, it was full of lakes and Nahua city-states, including Tenochtitlan, Xochimilco, Tetzcoco, Chalco, etc.

So the series is tentatively called LAKESIDE LOVES.

My reaction as a queer writer to the concerted efforts to suppress literature featuring queer folks and to erase trans people from society altogether ...

... is to write even MORE queer characters.

So I have begun a series of queer historical romances set in 15th-century Anahuac.

I mean, eh, let's imagine there are lots and lots of demons. Most are doing solid diabolical work, helping billionaires crush the poor, getting vile rapists into the presidency, etc. But there's always a weirdo or twoβ€”like Pazuzuβ€”who're like, "Shit, lemme possess a kid and make her puke pea soup."
