That’s precisely why, despite having had my permit for well over a decade, first in NC and now in PA, I rarely carry anymore. I can’t take it into work with me. And I’m not locking it in my car. Maybe if I installed a safe in my trunk… but that’s expensive and who fucking cares enough for that?

Look, I do appreciate this particular fact about Dick Cheney… and I’ll just leave it at that.

They think they’re exceptional. They think they’d rise above the poverty and discrimination. But they’re mediocre.

They think their struggles make the unique. Maybe they’re like me and very nearly fucked their entire lives up when they were young. And they can’t cope with the fact that had they been in the same situation a lot of other folks find themselves in, they’d be one of those stuck in the system.

But, these fucking guys want to be the victims so hard. “Oh, life is so hard for a white man!” No the fuck it isn’t. Life is hard for nearly everyone. Life is harder, on average, for folks who aren’t white men.

No one explicitly says it. But, that’s what happens. The entire system is set up to benefit white men, particularly ones who come from wealth. That’s why he talks about “qualifications” and to talent or merit. Certain groups do not have the same access to the qualifications. And THAT’S the game.

Here is something else from that whole soliloquy: “Now — there are plenty of white men who can be incompetent, who can be not good at their jobs, but no white man is going to be hired because he's a white man. So we never have to worry about that.”

That happens all the time, man.

I generally live my life trying to avoid criminal charges. But simple assault ain’t shit. Some things are worth it.

So they did exactly what Trump accused CBS of doing in that lawsuit about the Kamala Harris interview? Man, I think someone can make some money here.

And how did John McCain’s daughter end up being such a shitweasel? Not that he was perfect… but he was miles better than Dick fucking Cheney.

What will never cease to amaze me is how Dick Cheney and his daughter seem like one of the “good” Republicans today. Like, that party is so morally bankrupt that two of the shittiest people look good in comparison to the rest because they have moral compasses that aren’t completely broken.

Do you enjoy having the same tired argument over and over again? Justify your vote, or lack thereof, however you want. I really DGAF. So many people only want to argue. I read plenty of conservative op-eds and whatnot to understand opposing points of view. However, I have no desire to engage anyone conservative online.

I signed up for the Pittsburgh Ten-Miler this weekend. But, then I was lazy and slacked off instead of training. Sunday is going to be brutal. Thankfully, showing up still drunk to all those battalion runs has prepared me for running way too far when I am in no shape to run.

Lazzara? I voted against most of the Allegheny Common Pleas judges. But I voted to retain all the PA Supreme Court justices.

I have made some very poor choices in my life. Watching this Penguins game is among them.

I have always been curious about pretty much everything. My curiosity only intensifies with age. So I read a lot. My curiosity is probably one of the reasons I chose to get a History degree.

Sometimes, I like to play with them. I’m generally better read than the folks they usually argue with. But, it’s still an exercise in futility. And, these days I’m going to grow tired of it before they do. I’d rather spend my free time doing something fun.
