As a game I like that everyone else hates its definitely Sonic Heroes, I understand not liking it because of how extremely unpolished it is, but I still have a really fun time playing it (at least when focusing on Team Sonic and Dark)

I managed to fix the Octostrikers so that they can work outside of their original context, as originally they would just throw you out of bounds if the post-defeat position wasn't setup. I also managed to make the ink splatter animation and cutscene that appears after you defeat them to only play...

the game doesn't like having multiple of them, as you still get thrown OoB for some reason. Perhaps later I'll talk about the more technical details

when you are in one of the og Octostriker stages, as that animation outside of that context would be a big pacebreaker. Only real limitation for now until I can figure out how to fix it is that there's only going to be one Octostriker in an Octostriker level cause even with the patches I wrote...

As for another thing I was curious about, I spent some time restoring some unused debug functionality in Splatoon 1's final boss against Octavio that draws various debugging info for his fight on screen such as the current state, distance from the player, current phase, etc

So uh 2025:
- Properly got into programming and learned C++, Python, and C# (largely the former)
- Experienced my first ever console launch with me getting the Switch 2 on day 1
- Got into Archipelago randomizers
- Developed my own Splatoon 1 randomizer which got me into REing

Aight here’s my SU movie review a few weeks later: Overall I had a good time, the songs were great and has some of the best songs of the entire series, Spinel was a fantastic character and it overall provided some great fanservice for those who stuck along since the start. 8/10

Anyways here's a showcase of the item drop randomizer, items like keys and Sunken Scrolls are purposely excluded; the former you could get potentially stuck and just wouldn't really work with the more linear nature of this game compared to say a Zelda rando, the latter could be in just one drop? idk
