What with that and having to arrest 90yo little-old-lady terrorists...

Put on a crash helmet, put a white wheelie bin on its side, lie in the bin, and have people hit the bin with big sticks while "experimental electronica" plays inside the helmet. Keep completely still for an hour or so, or you'll just have to do it all again.

I'd've thought the boss would approve of what was done, what with this having been standard practice for estate agents as long as there have been estate agents.

I dunno about you, but every time I've ever dumped someone, I've only known if it was the right thing to do after I've done it... And I have been wrong. I never mentioned "encouraging". I'm talking about realising mistakes I've made for myself.

People can take years to realise they made a mistake.

My notion is that it looked like that because there was no-one sufficiently authoritative and trustworthy from government to counteract it. We'd all been roundly shafted in many and varied ways by Blair, etc., and there was no-one much to make the other case who'd've been believed.

The only slightly dodgy one is F, which is a bit of a stretch.

To be fair there's no earthly reason why a microwave oven needs a clock, let alone why that clock should have to be set before it can be used. Microwaves need two buttons: "add 30s to cooking time" and "stop".

Because of Andrew Bloody Wakefield and governments that can't be trusted to act on our best interests and idiots who think "if I don't get my children vaccinated it'll be fine because everyone else will get theirs done".

I didn't say that. It isn't perfect; it's unfixable from outside; it always was and still is the best idea.

In the UK it's severely class-oriented as well. Those bits of Morrisons are not like those bits of Waitrose.

Euphemisms for "died" and "killed" are rife, though. People "pass on" all the time.

"recently-calibrated reference dog" - outstanding! I did previously think that genuine computation had been done by these physics experiments, but now it sounds as if they're as far progressed as that other physics experiment, nuclear fusion.

There are just too many questions to which she can't give a straight answer. She's politically cornered.

A major problem here is the lack of pro-Rejoin parties. If everyone you could vote for is pro-Brexit, Rejoin isn't a thing you can use to choose who to vote for.

The "stop trying" advice does not work. Nothing happens. It's another rendition of "what's for you will not go by you". Accept your lot, in life; there is no way to change it".

I wouldn't, no. But consider someone with a tendency like that, with no service and no way to move things forward, presented with someone who works for the relevant faceless organisation?

Arseholes gonna arsehole.

If it were actually possible to talk to companies like Openreach and Cityfibre, that would probably help reduce frustration.

FTTP cabinet 20 feet from my front door 5.5 years now, and counting; no FTTP service available yet. No-one will say why.

There are four seasons of it, but S4 has never been widely released or subtitled outside Spain, as far as I know. Truly marvellous stuff.
