add more to the start of the story, maybe. soften up some of the edges.

the major difference is that the first story was from when I was still very rusty and finding my feet. thinking about it as i write these very public posts makes me face the fact maybe the story just isn't good enough because it tried too much.

it's a real shame though. Maybe I'll try one more pass

the more i write the more i see parallels between certain stories i penned, and It feels like a coin flip why one story gets accepted first time I send it somewhere versus a similar story getting rejected for years.

Brilliant cast of actors every time. The entire show is like 5 seasons? but each episode is a movie and in decades worth of show there's only one bad episode.

Truly inspired.

A man in yellow jumpsuit with sleeves rolled up sits at the dark marbled base of a park monument. A tag on his breast pocket reads "CASTOR." Sitting on his left is a humanoid alien with aging face and bald head so bulbous it looks like an inflated balloon. Casually turning toward the man to make a point, he wears red pants, collared shirt, and black slip on shoes. To the man's right, a shrimp-like alien in police uniform leans in to yell at him. The man looks ponderous as he rests chin in the V between his chin and forefinger while he gets an earful from the shrimp. The monument that rises behind them is an homage to Iwo Jima with four shrimp planting a United States flag. The background beyond is all crystals and geometric shapes in a muted rainbow of colors.
