Smallz stayed with me for about a year and a half. It was an education for both of us, and he was one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. It's finally come time for him to go where all good boyz go. He's told David in no uncertain ways that it's time.

There came a time when David was in student housing in Salem when he couldn't have Smallz with him, so he called his crazy cat lady aunt for help.

Sometime around 2010 or so, my nephew David got a dog. Smallz was half Labrador retriever, half Newfie: a big black bundle of love, the size and *energy* of his adventurous Labrador dad, and the coat and strength of his Newfie mom.
