Tabby cat sitting on the floor looking up at photographer. She looks younger than she is (15)
I wasn’t sure this cutie missed me when I was away but she resumed her “hat” position in bed last night where she curls up on top of my head and purrs #cats

Kat standing in front of a large ornate plaque dedicated to Jacob Bernoulli. Kat is point at the Archimedean spiral at the bottom
Blue plaque dedicated to Thomas Bayes. The plaque gives Bayes’ Theorem equation
6. I also took some inadvertent pilgrimages: NB this isn’t the Epi model Bernoulli (Daniel) but his uncle (Jacob) who discovered e (faux pas with the Archimedean not logarithmic spiral on this plaque!). Didn’t get a photo but ran into the John Snow memorial pump in London the other day too!

Fancy food on black round plate - small circles of pink langoustine in nori cases with small purple flowers on top
Fancy white bowl which is an unusual shape with green sauce, pink langoustine and dill oil
Cuboid as a serving plate with nori wrapped cylinders stuffed with white coloured filling
Plate with pink foam and two crackers with unclear toppings plus kumquat
5. I’ve had some amazing food. My favourites have included scallops, langoustines and red shrimp. I’m still not convinced about a cuboid as a plate…

4. I added Cameroon 🇨🇲 to my list of visited countries. In Yaoundé my team delivered not one but two epidemiology modelling workshops!

3. Out of my 8 trips this year I’d have usually have done by ✈️ I did 5 of these by 🚂 (Côte d’Ivoire 🇨🇮, Cameroon 🇨🇲 and the US 🇺🇸 weren’t avoidable, but France 🇫🇷 (x2), Italy 🇮🇹 (via Switzerland 🇨🇭), Belgium 🇧🇪, and Scotland 🏴 were)

Men playing pétanque in sandy car park
Until yesterday I hadn’t posted properly on socials in ages…what have I been up to?
1. In the summer I played pétanque for the first time. After matches in Bouaké and Montpellier I’m basically an expert right?

White and tabby cat lying on the floor near the sofa with her head on some pink foam cat stairs
I got this old lady some cat stairs for the sofa to help her get up. First thing she did was use them as a pillow instead 🙃
