Pentiment is more early modern (early 1500s) than medieval, but medievalists would likely love it too - the art style is inspired by illuminated manuscripts. The music feels very historically accurate, but I'm not a specialist on that period

"L'homme armé" has to be one of the catchiest melodies ever written and even one hearing of it gets it stuck in my head for a week - but didn't expect it to come from a video game (Pentiment) this time (a GREAT game that desperately needs an early music studies / ludo combo person to study it)

FMAB has some really uncomfortable racial politics, is a conversation the FMA fandom has never really been ready for

It's far from the most egregious example in anime, but it stands out when the 03 version largely doesn't have that + the way people often talk about FMA's politics in glowing terms

It's arguably the best volume of the manga too!

(I've always been a strong 03 partisan, think it's one of the best examples of why adaptation sometimes benefits from unfaithfulness, but shafting of the Ishval stuff is why I generally recommend the manga for the "mangahood" version of the story)
