The Doom Generation (1995) - Going through the second entry of Gregg Araki’s trilogy since I got it in Criterion. What a wild film this wound up being. So far I liked Totally F****ed Up the most, but this one’s a very close second

It’s kinda life-affirming to see a character whose defining trait is being consumed by guilt and fear surrounded by the sunniest, happiest backgrounds you’d expect from slice of life or shonen merch. Honestly might be one of my favorite characters in recent anime

Part of me wants to make a shrine for Yoshiki from TSHD because I can’t look at the merch without cracking up at the “I had fun once, it was awful” expression they always give him.

My spiciest take is that the OP is great in both languages, but I can’t listen to the ED dubbed. It sounds too Disney Channel for my ears 😖

I don’t see a lot of discourse on whether people listen to the sub or dub for the Ouran opening/ending theme.

People debate over the voice acting, but my ears always try to catch if someone posts the theme songs in English or Japanese.
