Overall, school infrastructure quality matters for student health, well-being, and learning.
Our research shows that not all students have access to safe and healthy buildings. . . but there are funding mechanisms available to solve this problem!

We find that:
πΉ Schools serving more students of color have worse building conditions across dimensions.
πΉ These disparities remain even after accounting for poverty, geography, and school type.
πΉ Property tax revenue is the biggest driver of the gap, but state building aid helps narrow the gap.

This provocative, data-infused essay by James Wyckoff β edworkingpapers.com/ai25-1197 β serves as a reminder that fully understanding the declines in student achievement requires us to look well before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Flyer for a webinar on Thursday, June 12th from 1-2pm eastern titled "Breaking into Education Consulting: Exploring Independent Career Paths." The overview says: curious about what it takes to build a career as an independent consultant? In this webinar, panelists will share practical advice for researchers considering this path. I'm moderating and there are 4 dope panelists. Co-hosted by AEP, NCME, APPAM, and SREE.
Been chatting with folks who've lost their jobs and several said it would be nice to learn about how to get into consulting work. So I said I could put something together on that! Webinar next Thursday at 1pm eastern. (Thanks AEFP, APPAM, NCME, & SREE!)
