Gun violence is a daily reality in America – but we’re fighting back by breaking the gun lobby’s hold on Illinois lawmakers. G-PAC is building a political force to hold lawmakers accountable and continue the fight to keep our communities safe.

06.10.2025 22:07 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0We applaud Governor Pritzker, AG Raoul, and Mayor Johnson for taking legal action to block what they’ve called an “illegal, dangerous, and unconstitutional federalization” of the Illinois National Guard.
Their leadership shows what public safety really looks like: prevention, not force.

04.10.2025 21:31 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The President is federalizing the IL National Guard against the will of our own governor.
This is federal overreach at its most dangerous: undermining trust, destabilizing communities, and threatening the progress we've made.
Real safety is built from the ground up — by communities, not commands.
“Until we break our lust for these guns, nothing will change.”
Every family mourning a loved one knows this truth.
We owe them more than words—we owe them action.

Today is a reminder that change is possible without fear, force, or bloodshed. For us, it means rejecting the false choice between freedom and safety — and recommitting to a future where our communities thrive free from gun violence.

That real progress is now endangered—not by crime itself, but by a political strategy that substitutes fear and force for proven solutions. We reject it in the strongest terms.
The President went further, describing an “invasion from within … no different than a foreign enemy.”
That is language of war, aimed at Americans. It signals an approach that risks turning federal power against the very people it should protect.
While ICE pulls people off the street in downtown Chicago, Trump told Pentagon leaders that Democrat-run cities should serve as “training grounds for our military” and that “we’re going into Chicago very soon.”
This grave escalation likens our neighborhoods to battlefields.
That’s why our work is focused on the real solutions: centering victims, supporting survivors, and advancing meaningful gun safety reforms that make our neighborhoods safer.

While the circus around a potential federal deployment dominates headlines, too often the people most impacted—victims and families—are forgotten.
Gun violence is not a political show. It’s about lives cut short, loved ones grieving, and communities carrying the weight every day.

Chicago doesn’t need reactive shows of force. We need prevention: stronger national gun laws and real community investment.

This is why we fought for Safe at Home. Once rolled out, it will help prevent tragedies like this from happening again.
We’re grateful to AG Kwame Raoul and Illinois leaders for defending this life-saving law in court. This fight isn’t just about Illinois—it’s about whether we protect families or bow to the gun lobby.

“AR-15s … are not militaristic.” — Trump’s DOJ
That’s not just wrong, it’s offensive to victims of Highland Park and countless other communities devastated by assault weapons. Illinois banned these weapons because they have no place in our neighborhoods.
Prevention programs save lives. Research guides progress.
Both are being dismantled, while Trump doubles down on militarization. If we want safer communities, we must invest in proven solutions — not abandon them.

Mayor Johnson was clear: Chicago doesn’t need troops roaming streets. Deploying the National Guard would only undermine trust and undo real progress. The focus must be on prevention, not militarization.
