Gaming fun last night with some Dune Imperium Uprising.
A strong contender for my top 5 list of favourite games.

Like nobody would generate that and think "yep, that'll fool everyone into thinkinh I actually made that"

Well yeah, at least that's relevant to the city.
Nobody will argue that Manchester Originals were a well loved traditional institution, but I rather liked the name and badge, didn't see why it had to change.

I know that when I think of Manchester and cricket, the first thing that comes to mind is an elephant!
A city with such a rich history and the best they come up with is a bloody elephant!
The team logo for the newly renamed Manchester Super Giants is possibly the worst thing I've seen in a long long time.
Cricket sold is soul long ago so I shouldn't be surprised, but I'm just amazed nobody at the old Manchester Originals or from LCCC didn't just say anything.

Took over 6 and a half hours, but in the end, someone actually managed to pull themselves up to the power needed to defeat the final boss and actually won the have!
You can't say you don't get good value for a game of Talisman!
Talisman is objectively a bad game. Roll a dice, move to a space, fight a monster. Keep doing this until either A, you win, or B, everyone gets board and goes home many hours later.
However, despite being so bad I've never failed to have great fun playing it.
The most fun shit game in the world?
So this is happing today. A 7(SEVEN) player game of Talisman with multiple expansions, extra boards, characters, quests etc.
We're due to start around 4, but don't expect to be finished this side of midnight!

Bit of a learning game this afternoon with the fam.
Can confirm what everybody has been saying since 2022...Heat is very very good!!
Competitive but also fun. Simple rules but deep decisions. Fast paced and elegant.
I love it. Might even be played again tomorrow!

The art in these cards is simply delightful and packed with character.
Every card, illustrated by Roland MacDonald, is excellent.
I'm a particularly a fan of the German Platoon Sergeant. Despite being a Nazi, he's got a look of a man who knows his shit & has got all his ducks in a row.
Some Undauted fun with the eldest tonight.
Many, many brave German riflemen lost their lives attempting to defend a small river in northern France.
And for what?
So a young man can win bragging rights over his poor old father! 😢

We have a new guy who joined our group this time last year and it's been an absolute pleasure to introduce him to so many gaming experiences. Each games night it's something new - Dune Imperium, Brass Birmingham, The Crewe, Flamme Rouge!!
Boardgames are amazing. So many fantastic ideas, new mechanics and genres. That's not to mention the art and production that goes into a modern game. I'm particularly deep into the plethora of trick taking games at the moment
If you are lucky enough to have a good group, you are eating well.
It's taken bloody months, but I've finally finished the Tomb World Kill Team terrain.
Despite the time taken, I'm really happy with the end result.
Now I just need to play some games!

It's very good but very difficult to find now unfortunately.
I think it probably should be played with 2 - 4. It's a little clunky solo, but still good fun.

Big board game session last night. Played all 3 of the gaming genres.
Clans of Caledonia - deep Scottish Highland eurogame.
Undaunted - WW2 deck builder
Zombicide - big cooperative zombie slasher campaign.
Was great fun but might have played on a little later than should have!
