I've always thought norse were a bit rubbish, but I didn't expect they'd be worse than halfings! I expect they will recover when more people feel brave enough to take elves again, maybe when the high elves are released.

Got back to #parkrun today after many weeks of bad weather and kids football getting in the way. A little rusty though, and I had to walk some of the second lap. Still enjoyed getting out in the sunshine though. 39.08 min, for 239/291 runners.

Yeah I based that guy, sometimes he's a turn marker but sometimes he gets promoted to riotous rookie :)

I wasn't expecting nurgle to win so much, being slow, but I think they match up so well against OWA that it gives them a big boost. I thought Tomb Kings would be better for the same reason, but they aren't. That could be because they're in the new box and hence played a lot by inexperienced players.

The big meta shift is that OWA are both popular and very good, so their good matchups like amazon and necromantic horror have taken a hit this season. But they should also do well against wood elves and dark elves, who are both in the top 10. Humans are also doing way better than I expected.

A thread on the #bloodbowl Season 3 meta, based on about 3 months of data. I was certainly wrong about orcs, who I thought were hosed but people are getting them to win. I should play them again! Same for Dark Elves. I was right about goblins still being the worst team in the game. Thread continues:

Tonight at #boardgames night, we played Saltfjord, a puzzly dice drafting game. Very thinky, quite quick, and I enjoyed it. Now I'm home, and its time for the Super Bowl! Got my beer and snacks ready, and tomorrow booked off work.

Just checked tourplay and yeah there's a few filthy rosters :). But I think your slann build looks good!

I didn't really enjoy the OWA though. Their offence felt so tricky if you dont get the removals. Felt like I was lurching from one crisis to the next all drive. #bloodbowl

MacMillan Cup round up: Most importantly, we raised £820 for cancer support! Lovely tournament run by Big Dan. The hotel gave us the room for free, which was amazing. Dalyo won with Tomb Kings. I finished 4th / 34 at 2-1-0.

R3 of MacMillan Cup vs Hexbaron's OWA. For the third game in a row my offence grinds to a halt and it's 0-0 at the half. 2nd half he feels pressured to score on T5. I return the score on T16 with some crazy dice (jump over prone player, 2D uphill needing a push etc) to draw 1-1. #bloodbowl

Rd2 vs BB_nut's OWA, almost an exact mirror. I receive, run into trouble again, have to potato on T7. He fails the dodge to blitz with a tackle blitzer and I score. 2nd half Ben is under pressure and goes for a pass play on T3 but fails while using all his rerolls, so it ends 2-0 to me. #bloodbowl

R1 of MacMillan cup vs Amazons. I receive but I suffer 4 cas and only a tripwire saves me, 0-0 at the half. 2nd half he's doing fine but makes a crucial mistake of making a sideline cage. I push my thrower into it, who surfs the ball carrier. I run off for the undeserved 1-0 win, 2-6 cas. #blodbowl

Going to a #bloodbowl tournament today: The MacMillan Cup, a charity event in Portsmouth. I'm taking Old World Alliance with my freshly painted treeman. People I trust say they're now the best team in this new edition. Let's try them out! It's 1150 and 6 skills for tier 1. Here's the team:

Last night I did a test model for my nurgle #bloodbowl team and I'm pretty happy with it. I used the underpainting method from Ninjon's recent darkwater video. It was quite quick but also fun to do. #minipainting #miniatures

This week at #boardgames night, we returned to Spirit Island. In the first game, I played Hearth Vigil, and we got smashed by the level 2 French. The second I was Many Minds Move as One vs level 1 Habsburgs. I didn't fully grok my spirit's strategy but we got the win mainly thanks to my teammates!

2D uphill with wrestle+strip is 69% to release the ball, or 90% with a reroll.

I think that's a good idea if you can stack wrestle+strip because you'd be happy with a 2D uphill and dont need the guard assist.

Amazons seem pretty screwed when everyone is playing OWA. That matchup just seems so bad!

I found this snow troll / yheti in my box - it was a freebie at a tournament. Think it's from Brutenfun. I painted it up because he could work as a Skrorg Snowpelt, who seems really good now! #bloodbowl #minipainting

This week at #boardgames night we played 2 x 7-player games of Mysterium. The first was a relaxing time of discussing which cards can relate to which clue. The second, with me as the ghost, was very stressful trying to get semi-meaningful clues out to 6 people quickly!

I bought a great looking Punga Nurgle team from Ebay, the only remaining #bloodbowl team I didn't own until now. Tonight, I watched stranger things while doing my favourite part of the hobby: cleaning, glueing, and basing.
