3/3 We're exploring what the Abbey and its precinct may have looked like at this time, after the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the late 1530s. The Abbey complex was likely reconfigured significantly to accommodate Henry, his wife and their sizable retinues! Work continues...

2/3 - It's likely that Henry VIII and his then-wife Catherine Howard stayed in apartments within the Abbey's cloister in 1541 as part of his royal progress to the north of England.
