Then they deported her too. Right back to the man who abused her.

Living as an autistic adult almost always means being exhausted from constantly trying to fit into societal expectations.

The energy spent masking our true selves can be overwhelming.

Embracing ourselves means recognizing & valuing our authentic experiences. For us & others.

Being autistic means people will misunderstand your words and intentions, twisting them around to hear what they want to hear, almost always.

This happens with fellow autistics as well - many of us internalize NT norms as a form of masking.

Exhausting.
