In past 36 hours, have had:

-Several "spear-fishing" and AI-enabled fake Paperless Post invites.
-Several fake/impersonation Substack accounts

All rebuffed.

Be careful out there. Enable 2FA everywhere. Hover over links before clicking. Change your important passwords now, just for the hell of it.

The sheer pervasiveness of dissonance in Bach's music is often overlooked. Here's the introduction to his Cantata No. 54, a work in which the faithful are urged to resist sin. In just10 bars of music, there are 103(!!!) dissonances. And I'm not even counting passing tones.

On this date in 1594, the composer and organist Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina died in Rome. His extensive output included both sacred and secular works, rendered in a smooth, consonant contrapuntal style that served as a model for composers over the following three centuries.

New lion cub pics just dropped for CATURDAY! The two females, born Jan 14, got a quick scale check this week—weighing in at 6.5 and 6.8lbs. They're nursing and bonding with mom Ilanga in a quiet off-view maternity den and it'll be a few weeks before they're ready to venture outside. Stay tuned! 🦁❤️
