This is figure 4, which shows that iron supplementation rescues the impact of entacapone on the gut microbiome.
Entacapone, a Parkinsonβs disease medication, sequesters iron resulting in a selective inhibition of gut microbial activity, according to a study in Nature Microbiology. Microbial growth can be rescued by replenishing levels of microbiota-accessible iron. https://go.nature.com/414h6TG π§ͺ
