Been making rough computations about Kojima Productions and I hope their CFO stashed a bit of money from DS1 (≈20M ltf sales) because DS2 sales and overall buzz don’t look too hot (≈1.3M).

I think there's the same fantasy as when they purchase an island or build subterranean bunkers : securing their ass should civilisation fall (in case of zombie or, far more probable, climate crisis) & head their own autonomous country to demolish the last sliver of regulation they need to follow.

Also perfect on steamdeck except for optional dialog bubbles (which you can see through log window). It's the hardest SRPG I've ever played (except maybe my first few hours on CoQ 😂), it's a tactical where you HAVE to use dozens of items per mission, each with a different gameplay. It's daunting.

Gameplay wise, right now I'm playing Reverse Collapse Code Bakery and the item-based gameplay is incredible, but it's soooo long hltb is maybe 80 hours and missions are super hard. I'd love to see more SRPG gacha companies dip into premium games bizmodel

Of all the games you've listed, Clair Obscur is imo the most significant one. Though it's a huge a game. My favorite "small" turn based game in the last few months is Tactical Breach Wizards. Tight gameplay and well written dialogs I'm sure you'll appreciate 🤟
