Yes, it’s super cool! It’s called “granulated pigments” if you want to find some. Basically some pigments are heavier than others, so they settle in different places creating a two toned effect.

Rotating the paper! A lot of painters keep their paper still, but if you rotate it, you can always place the tip of the brush against the precise line you need (avoiding the brush fanning out broadly)

I also use plenty of water, so I don’t need to rush! :) Worst case it makes a pretty bloom 🥰

Ahh thank you so much, this is such a meaningful compliment! Masking fluid can be helpful, but this is a fun challenge and avoids the irritating chemicals too!

I’m talking beautiful things like a community garden, skill and tool exchanges, free community medical care. The only way to escape these systems is to make it so they’re optional, not essential, for our survival.

So, build or learn something new this year. Your “survival hobby.” Then share it!

I don’t have answers on what to do besides speaking up, but I can say that (if you haven’t yet realized) there is no reform that makes these systems safe (for any of us, no matter how privileged you think you are).

The only thing to save us is building community outside of systems & supply chains.

It’s this plus the issue of government surveillance. Having our biometric, physical activity (geolocated routes), and online activity (community networks) surveilled makes it way easier for any government or co-conspiring corporation to target individual or group activists too.

When children are isolated (due to social ostracizing or deliberate government/corporate censorship), they are much much much easier to traffic or harm.

And this is coming right after the rich proved to the globe they can traffic anyone and get away with it without punishment.

It also prevents trafficked or abused children from being more easily identified by safe community. They can no longer talk about sexual experiences, learn what is safe and normal at their age, or be in community with adults who may be more equipped to identify and act on red flags.

This means anyone in these communities needs to either lose community connections or send extensive biometric or activity data to (often Israeli) tech companies to access restricted and targeted spaces. Or, it completely blocks access for those at the highest risk of trafficking (like undocumented).

It’s not a coincidence that all of these communities are already facing or beginning to face genocidal government actions in the same country most of these tech companies are based in.

It’s also not a coincidence these communities have the highest rate of trafficking (extremely relevant right now)

Age verification is a form of internet censorship (restricting content unless consenting to unknown/risky surveillance).

It especially targets POC, trans people, people with facial difference, and people who cover their face (like niqabis, some protestors/activists & drag queens).

In lieu of Discord’s age verification policies, time to make another post about the dangers of online censorship (especially in connection to child trafficking).

Tl;dr: These policies are about surveillance, profit, and data mining…not about ‘saving the children.’

If you hate Generative Al, the best way to fight back is to support real artists ✍️

Trans people in general too, which is also terrifying considering how a lot of Western countries are starting to target trans people with genocidal actions.

It also identifies people behind face coverings (which targets Muslims and activists) which is also a huge red flag

Every person i interact with on discord will be affected by the id bullshit. Why? You aren't allowed to uncensor images marked as "sensitive". Art refs with tits get flagged immediately.
