Doc "Picky Poo" Savage

5'10", 160 lbs. I am the definition of average. Sometimes I feel like "average" would be a compliment. ;-)

I never cheated but until I fell genuinely in love with philosophy I definitely coasted a bit. But once I fell in love with what I was studying, I got serious very quickly. There is a big difference between doing what they tell you, and doing what you love.

Honorable mention goes to the Highland. I want to ride one of those guys down Franklin street on a Saturday night.

and it requires knowing what you're doing before you start. There's no way to modify in the middle (needs a bit more salt). Misty can bake, I think because she's much better at following directions than I am. ;-)

I read cookbooks like novels, but I don't think I've _ever_ followed a recipe when I cook. It's one of the reasons I don't bake. When it comes to baking, my approach will not work.

For dairy, Jerseys. For beef, black angus. For small acreages, dexters. Holstein? That's my lawyer's name. that's not a cow, that's a wolf in a brooks brothers suit. ;-)

We got this. There will be a few more weeks of pure suck, but it is improving. I'm going to ask the dermatologist for a 5 gallon bucket of topical lidocaine and a paintbrush. If I can get some sleep, I think I'll be back in the game in short order. :)

(I do seem to be on the mend, but criminy christmas is it taking a long time. I've slept 45 minutes in the last 24 hours, and that was sitting at my desk. It's been an interesting journey.)

As I prepare to go to the doc for the fifth time in five weeks, it occurs to me that between losing my best friend and my late wife to incurable diseases, and miraculously curing my son of an incurable disease, the stress I endured as an adult was #mountanous. It takes a toll on a brother. #vss365

It would have been horrible if it hadn't been so hilarious. Every fire truck in North Carolina ended up there, and we all just sat down and watched the mayhem from a safe distance. :)

When I was a teenager, I was at baseball practice at school, and some kid threw a firecracker into a dumpster, which promptly went up in flames. It was literally a dumpster fire. It still cracks me up when I think about it. :)

Or, in the case of Princess Lily, they just invade. Twice a day -- once in the morning, once in the evening -- it does NOT matter what I'm doing, I could be on the phone with Volodymyr Zelensky, too bad. "You will pay attention to me NOW!" Longest 15 years of my life (but also my best friend). ;-)

Do you know someone (perhaps an older person?) who would love a senior cat who needs to be an only pet in a home? This isn't my shelter, but a neighboring rescue. Tiny is a 13-year-old Ragdoll. I believe her owner died. She needs to be your one and only. Hermiston, Oregon #cats

The Bangles were underappreciated in my opinion. Their stuff was hooky and well played. Their version of hazy shade of winter was absolutely amazing.

I'd never heard Rain Parade before. That was a really good song. I tend pretty hard punk, but that was like the gin blossoms but better.

I'm not gonna lie (just this once), but the last few weeks have been not very much fun, but I do seem to be on the mend. I see the doc tomorrow, and I think I'm going to ask for a gallon jug of lidocaine and a paintbrush. To quote those guys from that band, I would love to become comfortably numb.

That's actually hilarious. I had no idea where that quote came from. I've been saying it all my life, no idea where I first heard it.
