The swim bladder rete mirabile represents a very efficientcountercurrent exchanger. Oxygen and carbon dioxide mole-cules returning to the venous side of the rete mirabile will there-fore diffuse back to the arterial side, resulting in a countercur-rent multiplication of the initial increases in oxygen and carbondioxide partial pressures. The back diffusion of carbon dioxideagain is of crucial importance for the initiation of the Root effectwithin the swim bladder tissue because it results in an acidifi-cation of the arterial blood of the rete mirabile, induces the Rooteffect, and elevates oxygen partial pressure in the blood sup-plying the swim bladder tissue. The metabolic activity of gasgland cells causes further acidification, which enhances theRoot effect and the increase in oxygen partial pressure. Modelcalculations demonstrate that this dual acidification, togetherwith the very efficient countercurrent multiplication of theincreases in blood oxygen partial pressure and blood oxygencontent in the rete mirabile, can readily explain the generationof oxygen partial pressure values of up to several hundredatmospheres in swim bladder tissue of deep sea fish (10).

I think you want 𒌀 (TIL), rather than 𒁁 (BAD). They merge in later styles of cuneiform but are distinct in ED.

There was earlier discussion of stabilizing case folding (which is what we recommend using for case-insensitive comparison), see decision www.unicode.org/L2/L2005/050..., but presumably they already had well-established implementations that used the mappings rather than the folding.

For example, the convoluted www.unicode.org/policies/sta... added by decision www.unicode.org/L2/L2008/080... is ultimately here because of Microsoft requirements (www.unicode.org/L2/L2006/061...).

It can be worth it to break programs when developers upgrade to the next version of the language, or callers when they upgrade to the next version of the library.
But when standardizing plain text, changes can easily corrupt file systems, databases, or downstream standards that we aren’t aware of.
