Sorry for missing this. Is in beta testing now and should, hopefully, be fully operational alongside new signage for the New Year.

Greenwich Foot Tunnel user creates app to warn of lift closures - The Greenwich Wire A disgruntled user of the Greenwich Foot Tunnel has created a web app so fellow walkers and cyclists can warn each other when the crossing’s unreliable lifts are broken.

This is a great initiative & something myself & @aidanmasmith have been seeking be done live on the council website for years.
With new API technology it may be coming later this year -but absent that I’m glad to see residents stepping up for our community

Fantastic to get Twinkle Parks Green flag up, at long last, as well!

If you want to get more involved in the community please do get in touch and I’ll see what I can do to help.

Great weekend across Creekside.

Volunteer day on Sunday in Twinkle Park & Charlotte Turner Gardens where we were joined by great new volunteers.

And lots of casework & some canvassing all day Saturday.

Just wish I remembered sun cream on my bald head… feeling sunburn today 🤕

Brilliant win for the lionesses 🦁 🏆

And incredible final stage of #TDF2025

Double screening to get best of both!

Credit to colleagues Josh Ayodele, and both Sam Littlewood and Jackie Smith who’ve been working on this as well.

I had assurances last July at Transport Committee that the council had finally got Newham to sit down for talks, and earlier this year that after dragging their feet Newham had concluded legal agreements. So was a relief to hear funds had finally been released so works could commence.

Glad to see this being reported. 2 weeks ago I had it confirmed that Newham had released funds meaning work could start to return Woolwich Foot Tunnel to service.

Disappointing it’s taken so long, but am overjoyed it’ll be back in operation by end of year

Lovely morning for some maintenance and litter picking in Twinkle Park and Charlotte Turner Gardens.

Remember - when enjoying our greenspace this weekend please take your rubbish with you and don’t have BBQs particularly given how dry it is

…refer offences so that police resources can be appropriately directed and the Council can seek to engage offenders to address the drivers of criminal behaviour.

Really is a case of us needing to be both tough on crime & the causes of crime. We need impacted biz to report & refer.

I’ll continue to urge the PLA to rethink and stop these massive ships, while also working to ensure that if we do have cruise ships in Greenwich that they do not disturb residents with unnecessary tannoys, fog horns and other unnecessary activity. Am also seeking more pollution data from PLA.

The council cannot stop the cruise ships, but I do not think we should be leasing parking bays for coaches to take passengers up to central London. We’ve good public transport links that visitors should use and local residents & businesses shouldnt suffer from the bay suspensions

Meeting with Port of London Authority earlier this week I urged them end the cruise ships, and in the meantime to seek agree a responsible neighbours charter with ship providers to address noise disturbances for neighbours - which I’m glad to say they have said they will explore and update on

Question on cruise ships - 25 June 2025
YouTube video by Cllr Calum O'Byrne Mulligan Question on cruise ships - 25 June 2025

I’ve been calling for the Council to end leasing of parking bays to cruse ships docking in Greenwich.

We may not have the power to stop cruse ships (that’s for Port of London Authority) but we shouldn’t be facilitating by providing coach parking bays. My Council question

We’ve had a commitment to weekly website updates and hopefully we will be able to see live updates in the future.

A person was stuck in the lift and until exact cause can be identified and addressed we are, unfortunately, one down. Will update further as and when I have more.

As a council we’re working to monitor traffic both to identify displacement as well as on the A2 itself to see overall traffic levels.

Find this claim about as convincing as my hairline. We’ve know since 1960s that increasing road capacity only serves to increase the number of vehicle journeys - and, in time, congestion gets worse.

I hope I’m shown to be wrong, but I am sceptical as are Greenwich residents

The closure will of course be disappointing to some, but it is the only way to replace the escalators and deliver a reliable and fully accessible station long term - & so I think most people will agree it is a price worth paying.

We've been pushing for this for over 3 years, so it is long overdue.

Thanks to all who have supported as we've worked for this over a number of years - both current and past Council colleagues as well as our MP and Assembly Member. It has been a pleasure to work with colleagues & residents to see this positive outcome that will ensure a reliable long term service 6/

...Last year DLR confirmed to me, Len Duvall AM, Leader of the Council & Matt Pennycook MP that they would be replacing the escalators. Since then we've been pushing for timetable to be made public ASAP (as well as better network comms).
I'm glad it has now been confirmed on day 1 of the new FY

...Some people may be disappointed at the station closure, but this is the only way works can be safely completed & will ensure a reliable service at the station for many years to come, and so is a price that is well worth paying for all users of the station and DLR network...
